In 2012, construction was begun on a 3,200 sow unit in Long Prairie, MN by the Gourley Brothers LC (Gerald, George, Gerry and Gene).  This breed to wean facility was built to replace an outdated and constant PRRS’s challenged sow facility in Iowa.  The new name, Gourley Premium Pork (GPP) was given to this new venture.

Protein Sources Management of Mapleton, MN designed, over saw the construction and manages the facility.

Understanding and recognizing the need for quality sow research, the facility made some adjustments in the design (in floor animal scale, feed lines and bulk feed storage bins) to accommodate research projects / trials.

About Gourley Premium Pork

The barn is capable of production, management, genetic and nutrition type trials. For more information, visit the GPP services page.

GPP weans approximately 1,500 pigs per week.

PIC genetics are used with the dam line being a 1050 (Camborough)

GPP weaned pigs flow to the GLP & GRG research wean to finish barns.  Schedule varies, call / email for estimated fill dates.
